McGill Campus

McGill University has a beautiful campus right in downtown Montreal. The land the university was built on was the country summer home of James McGill (1744 - 1813), a wealthy Montreal businessman. In those days, Montreal was smaller, inside the walls of Old Montreal. When James MCgill died, he left the land and £10,000 to start an English college in Montreal.
